Still responding to commands from the app, but will not initiate movement after a minute SwitchBot S10 says “Paused”
The S10 is a beautiful thing, I really do love it and am in the process of writing a review. This is the first major problem I’ve had with it.
Usually you’ll set the bot start from the app and it will move forward from the dock, do some self checks and then start moving to where its been asked to clean.
With this problem the S10 is receiving the command but not moving out from the dock at all. The SwitchBot app shows that the S10 is self checking and relocating but that’s all that happens. In less that a minute the S10’s voice will say “Paused”. No error’s come up in the app, but I did eventually find in the S10 logs after a few minutes it lists and “Error” with no other details.

I tried all the different modes including manual driving, none of which allowed the S10 to move. Even manually placing it in different locations in the house hoping something would fix it.
The common troubleshooting steps in the manual say that if anything out of the ordinary is happening, turn off the power switch and turn it back on to restart the S10.
If you’re having this problem don’t do what I did. I resorted to resetting the S10 to default settings, then removed it from the app to set up from new. I did not realise you could save the map that was already set up so I’ve lost that.
All for nothing as well, the reset did not make a difference. So a support ticket was created to see if SwitchBot had a solution for me.
No Solution
At this stage, I unfortunately do not have a solution. According to support it is a hardware problem, and they are going to send me a new unit.
All I can suggest if you’re having this problem, is sending to support as many details of troubleshooting steps you’ve taken so they can make a quick decision to replace the unit.
If you have this problem or even a solution for it, let me know in the comments.
